MATCHUP MAYHEM | Metal Sonic — Description

Ok so before anyone asks, this isn't me changing my tier list again.
THIS, is a new idea I had in mind. a few guys did something similar with their Tier Lists where they explained why each character was IN a respective tier, so I thought it'd be fun to do a new series based on that respective idea, starting with Metal Sonic because he's fun to talk about

THE BEST OF THE BEST:
Perfect Cell (Dragon Ball)
Now it's no surprised why Cell is at the top, everyone pretty much knows me as the Metal Sonic vs Cell guy, tldr; this MU can basically be described as Metal Sonic's Bendytrap, someone with a self-hatred problem and identity crisis going up against someone with a ego complex and believes himself to be PERFECT? Yes please, It also utilizes Cell's other tools and let's him use more then just Kamehameha, you can have him go giant to counter Metal Overlord, use Cell Jrs to stall Neo Metal to charge up a spirit bomb, Go Kaioken X20 to match Super Neo, you name it. The only problem is that it's a stomp but let's be honest I don't give a fuck about debate so that doesn't mean much, all around best MU for Metal with fight potential and characterization for the dude
THE GOOD STUFF:
RID!Scourge (Transformers)
Underrated MU imo, I personally think this is Metal's best "Copyycat" MU because it DOES allow some complexity into the mix, due to how Scourges appearances went in the show, the fight potential is actually pretty fun and it COULD be debatable depending on if Scourge scales to other TF stuff, but I consider this Metal's best alt
CopyX (Megaman)
Probably my favourite Megaman MU for Metal Sonic, it's got good connections some good fight potential etc etc, I think what makes it stand out is that CopyX via limited understanding DOES have a inferiority complex of his own, which could make some good banter
Soundwave (Transformers)
I think it's overhated, It does feel like not a good use of Metal's OP stuff but honestly Soundwave is kinda OP in his own right so I don't think it's that big of a deal, you can get pretty creative and the contrast of actual loyalty vs chained loyalty is pretty fun
Super Adaptoid (MARVEL)
I just think it's neat, probably my preferred Comic MU for Metal Sonic, sadly he loses but I think everything makes up for it, it's just really good
Cyborg Superman (DC)
It's unique, that's kinda the only reason it's up there, it's unique and I do like it for that sole reason

IT'S AIGHT:
Bass (Megaman)
It's definitely thematic, and there is some good potential for a DBX, but nowadays it just feels like it'd work better via a army battle with Eggwily, because Surge exists
Ultron (MARVEL)
Another case of definitely thematic but it's just kinda at the middle, there is some good banter and fight ideas but it doesn't really do much for Metal's character, it is saved by being unique however so I think this is a good place to put it
Doodlebob (Spongebob Squarepants)
I just think it's funny to be honest, I personally think Metal wins because he's probably faster and can grab the Pencil before Doodlebob can even draw but it COULD be debatable depending on what goes on, but yea this one is just funny and IS surprisingly neat so it's fine
Omega Zero (Megaman)
This is a either a MU people love or hate, I think it's cool but not my thing, there is definitely some cool banter and some neat ideas via Omega's arsenal but idk..CopyX kinda just exists so it makes Omega vs Metal an anti-vibe JUST a bit, but I can definitely understand why people like it so much
Bizzaro (DC)
Basically what I said about Ultron but replace the banter with decent ideas for how the fight heats up

Doppelganger Arle (Puyo Puyo)
Not a good use of Metal's OP stuff, unfun arsenal clash and is just boring, not to Mention it does NOTHING for Metal Sonic's character outside of his one core trait and not anything with his inferiority complex
Raymesis (Rayman)
LITERALLY what I said about Doppelganger Arle, I ain't a fan of boiling Metal Sonic down to a copycat despite his complex nature
Mercrymon (Digimon)
It just anti vibes tbh, that's it, that's the whole reason it's down here
Starscream (Transformers)
I would like this one if Starscream didn't already have a better Sonic opponent in the form of Starline, AND RID Scourge and Soundwave exist.
Dark Meta Knight (Kirby)
Connections spread misinformation and it suffers the same problems Doppel and Raymesis have, you can tell I'm not a fan of boiling Metal Sonic down to a copycat imposter character
Zero (Megaman)
It's mid, Metal stomps hard and I just don't care about it outside of the contrasts and a GVE idea

Bowser Jr (Super Mario)
It's just..so...forced. This goes to Metal Mario too but Jr's on here because he ATLEAST deserves a mention
Cyn (Murder Drones)
Outside of that one versus animation, I just don't see how they mesh well together and Cyn literally has much more thematic and better options at her disposal
J (Murder Drones)
Good with Classic Metal, terrible with Modern Metal, that's my thoughts on J vs Metal tbh
Doomsday (DC)
They copy abilities and hate blue heroes...it's an anti-vibe tbh.
Mecha Godzilla (Toho)
...You know I would have put this one in alts/okay if the fans of it weren't the most assholeish people to ever exist on Planet Earth, it does nothing for Metal as a character, the arsenal clash isn't engaging and there is literally nothing from this becoming another stomp cuz IDEK IF MECHA GODZILLA GETS AS HIGH AS GODZILLA AND GHIDORAH, fans using it as a tool to shit on Metal vs Cell hasn't helped my thoughts either. I don't think the creator meant any harm with the revamp but what it spawned cannot be forgotten, fuck this matchup honestly, the fans of it really suck and it's a massive waste of Metal's potential as a character and his characterization in media, there's nothing outside of "guys who want to kill their main inspiration", no banter for Metal to bounce off of, no good arsenal clash aside from utilizing Metal Overlord but even some of Metal's other much more FUN matchups can do that better, objectively it's good but personally I fucking despise it. The fans did not help, and the harassment other Cell vs Metal fans got surely didn't help either, it's my 7th most hated MU for a reason.
